NEW YORK: Korn/Ferry International has lured The Home Depot's Richard Marshall to head the executive search firm's corporate communications practice.
Marshall, Home Depot's corporate communications VP since 2001, will replace Bob Woodrum, who is retiring after 16 years. Woodrum created the firm's external affairs practice in 1989 and is expected to cede control of the six-person unit over the next year.
After he officially retires, Woodrum will remain with the firm in an advisory role.
Marshall will join Korn/Ferry today, working from the New York office as a senior client partner. He will manage the firm's recruitment of communications pros for clients.
Before joining Home Depot, Marshall held senior communications positions with Subaru of America and Silicon Graphics.
