CARY, NC: Tyler Gronbach has left Qwest Communications for a position as VP of corporate communications at R.H. Donnelley, the Yellow Pages and online local search company.
Gronbach's job title, identical to the one he held at Qwest, is a new title at Donnelley.
A $603 million company, Donnelley publishes Sprintbranded Yellow Pages in 18 states. In addition, it purchased the Illinois and Indiana directory business of SBC Communications in 2004.
With its acquisition of Yellow and White Pages publisher Dex Media expected to be finalized early next year, Donnelley will become one of the country's largest directory publishers and a nearly $3 billion company overall, according to Gronbach.
"The printed directory and online search markets will continue to consolidate,"Gronbach added,"and there will be more competition [among fewer companies]."
At Qwest, communications chores will be handled by EVP of corporate communications Joan Walker, though the company
is currently looking for a successor to Gronbach.
