WASHINGTON: The US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) has named Guillermo Meneses VP for communications, a position in which he oversees all internal communications and media relations for the national organization.

Meneses succeeds Maria Ibanez as USHCC's communications head. Meneses previously worked as VP of communications for advocacy group NDN (formerly the New Democrat Network). He also served as press secretary for the Democratic National Committee and as a public affairs officer in the US Department of Energy during the Clinton administration.

Aside from developing and implementing communications strategies, Meneses oversees the organization's quarterly Networking magazine and its Hispanics Today television show ? products that he describes as USHCC's "premier communications vehicles."

"The truth is our goals are the very same goals that every other business owner has except that we represent a thriving, thriving community," Meneses said. Hispanic businesses are growing three times faster than the national average, he noted.
