KANSAS CITY, MO: The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has selected CooperKatz for a public education campaign.
The agency bested more than 30 firms, including incumbent Fleishman-Hillard. Terms were not disclosed.
CooperKatz will build on NAIC's ongoing "Stop, Call, Confirm" campaign, which urges consumers to verify with their state commissioners that they are working with a reputable company, according to principal Andy Cooper.
It will also implement the "Insure U" public education campaign to help consumers "make smarter decisions about the purchase of insurance products," Cooper noted.
It will also help consumers spot insurance fraud, a major issue for the industry.
"We're building almost an insurance university concept," he said.
The campaign will include online elements, media relations, event, face-to-face conversations, and PSAs.
The NAIC is an organization of the insurance regulatory officials in each state and US territory.
