MCLEAN, VA: Consulting firm BearingPoint has hired two top IR executives as the company faces a host of internal accounting problems.

James Hart, the former director of IR at AT&T, is now BearingPoint's director of IR in North America. Francesca Luthi, former IR director at Accenture, has joined as the company's new global IR head.

Deborah Mandeville, who has led BearingPoint's IR department since 2001, has moved to a new position in the company's finance department.

"I wanted a world class IR team, and that's what I went and got," said BearingPoint EVP and CMO Connie Weaver, to whom the new IR hires will report. "It's an opportunity to go from a defensive to an offensive posture [in investor communications]."

BearingPoint, formerly KPMG Consulting, has been wrestling with internal accounting problems for more than a year. The company works with Sloane & Co. for IR and corporate communications.
