MultiVu launches video podcast service

NEW YORK: MultiVu has launched a video podcast service that will enable clients to repurpose broadcast PR content such as VNRs and b-roll, as well as format their own video content, to reach consumer audiences directly.

Through the service, MultiVu will index clients' video content in Apple iTunes as individual podcasts. The content will also be available as part of MultiVu's general news podcast on iTunes.

Since offering audio podcasts on iTunes in August, MultiVu has seen a steady increase in the number of people using the service. In October, its most successful month, MultiVu saw 2,300 downloads.

"It moves more and more toward the overall strategy of taking client content directly to people who want it," said Tim Bahr, president of MultiVu.

He added that for existing clients of MultiVu, the service would be a value added proposition. However, he anticipates drawing new clients that already have existing video content that needs to be repurposed for this medium.

"With podcasting, you don't have to rely on the media to communicate with video," he said.

Video podcast content will also be available on the websites of parent company PRNewswire and PRNewswire for Journalists.
