VICKSBURG, MS: The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), which provides engineering and environmental research support to the Department of Defense, is looking for a public affairs assistance.
The selected agency will educate the public about the ERDC and its activities as well as tout its success stories.
The ERDC often works behind the scenes developing technologies that can detect improvised explosive devices, for example, or assess the topography of a battlefield.
Messages will also help build confidence in the Army overall, according to the RFP.
Tactics will include media relations, community outreach, events, exhibits and marketing.
The ERDC's current agency roster includes Guidry Associates, Hill Marketing Company, J. McKinney Associates and Sonshine Communications.
Only firms with gross revenues under $5 million will be considered for the assignment. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
