youth-oriented PR practice.
The office, which opened in Chicago late last month, will be headed by
Rebecca Loehr, a four-year BSMG veteran. The six-person operation will
be called simply SLAM.
According to BSMG consumer marketing division chief Barbara Molotsky,
the new office has already contributed its youth-marketing expertise to
existing BSMG accounts, including teen marketing programs for milk,
youth-oriented work on behalf of Quaker’s granola bars and an
anti-smoking campaign for Lorrilard Tobacco Co. While SLAM will become
part of the consumer marketing division, it will maintain separate
Molotsky said that the consumer marketing focus of the BSMG Chicago
office made it an ideal location for SLAM’s first US outpost. ’More and
more consumer product firms that we deal with want to reach the teen
market,’ she said.
SLAM UK, a division of BSMG’s London office, recently worked on the UK
launch of She’s All That.
