WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA: Service911.com, a site offering computer
service and online tech support, has chosen Manning Selvage & Lee’s
global technology arm over a host of multinationals to serve as its
agency of record.
MS&L got the nod over Edelman, Ketchum, Weber and GCI.
Formerly known as ’Fix My PC,’ Service911 worked with Dallas-based
Brinker Communications up until last fall, when CEO Lawrence Schwartz
decided the site needed an agency with more resources and greater
contacts in the Internet space.
Of all the agencies Schwartz approached, MS&L Global Technology pursued
the account with the most gusto. ’Not only did they have the contacts
and the proven track record with other Internet companies, but they were
the only firm that was very aggressive in going after our business,’ he
said. While Schwartz declined to disclose the value of the account, it
is said to be substantial - within the six-figure range.
Among MS&L’s recent hi-tech victories was OpenTV, which manufactures
software that enables digital interactive television services (PRWeek,
Dec. 20, 1999). The agency also garnered kudos for its launch of Pac-Man
World 20th Anniversary, a new version of the early-1980s arcade smash.
