Cairns’ SVP Kovitz nabs Burson spot

NEW YORK: Lisa Kovitz has returned to the major-agency league,

trading in her Cairns & Associates SVP post for an MD role at

Burson-Marsteller.



As one of the top execs in Burson’s brand marketing practice, Kovitz

will manage image campaigns for such big names as McDonalds, Xerox and

Gatorade. The newly created MD post falls within the consumer brands

specialty group.



Kovitz’s move was motivated by Burson’s superior resources. ’What they

have is extraordinary,’ she said. ’There are great research capabilities

and in-house design.’



Kovitz described the split with her former boss as amicable. During her

five-year Cairns tenure, she had led the firm’s media practice and

worked on events for Baileys. Before joining Cairns, Kovitz spent seven

years at Hill & Knowlton in New York, rising to the level of VP.



Kovitz is also well known in New York for her work as a board member of

the Publicity Club and as VP of Women Executives in Public Relations.
