WESTON, FL: Ultimate Software, a developer of human resource

software, has put its PR business up for grabs following a split with

The Weber Group, which had only been working for the company since

May.

According to Ultimate Software VP of marketing communications Linda

Miller, one reason for the split was Weber Group staff turnover.

However, a Weber Group spokesperson said that the only member of the

team who left was VP Kathy Wilson, who joined FitzGerald Communications

in November.

’We’re looking for an agency that has experience with software companies

and the ability to respond in Internet time,’ said Miller. In addition,

she said that the new agency should also be prepared to aggressively

place stories, particularly in the business press.

The company has issued an invitation-only RFP, and Miller confirmed that

FitzGerald is one of the firms currently under consideration. Miller

declined to discuss the budget, although Weber said that the account is

a small one.

Headquartered in Florida, Ultimate Software has 400 employees nationwide

and 1999 revenues of dollars 55.8 million.
