Triarc gives Mistic a hip-hop revamp

WHITE PLAINS, NY: Triarc Beverage Group is going the hip-hop route for the spring launch of a new line of Mistic herbal energy drinks.

for the spring launch of a new line of Mistic herbal energy drinks.



The company has enlisted two rappers, Redman and Method Man, to endorse

the energy drinks. Rather than using traditional press kits, Triarc is

sending out ’personalized’ letters from them to journalists at long-lead

urban- and youth-oriented publications.



Steve Jarmon, VP of communications for Triarc’s Mistic and Snapple

brands, said that the company and its PR agency, Deutsch PR, will send

out street teams in May to encourage sampling. He added that Mistic and

Snapple have used street-level campaigns in the past.
