PROVIDENCE: Textron, a global company with holdings in the aircraft,

automotive, industrial and finance industries, has named Douglas

Wilburne as VP of investor relations and communications. Wilburne, who

previously headed IR for Rite Aid, succeeds Mary Lovejoy, who has been

promoted to VP and treasurer. He has been charged with media relations

and crisis work.





NEW YORK: Publicis Dialog has promoted Richard George, principal and

management supervisor in its New York office (formerly LobsenzStevens),

to the post of principal and director of business operations for the

firm in the US. George, who was previously the PRSA’s director of PR,

will remain in New York and report directly to Publicis Dialog president

and COO Andy Hopson.

PITTSBURGH: Mellon Financial has tapped Ken Herz as its first VP and

director of corporate communications. Herz, formerly a VP of corporate

communications for Chase Manhattan, has been charged with overseeing

media relations as well as employee and shareholder communications.





NEW YORK: RxCentric.com, a Web site that provides doctors with access to

drug information, has named Paul Graves as VP for communications. Graves

was most recently senior managing director in Hill & Knowlton’s

healthcare practice.





DURHAM, NC: Inspire Pharmaceuticals has appointed Michael Freeman to the

newly created position of VP of IR and corporate communications. He

previously served as director of corporate communications for Medco

Research, where he directed the company’s interaction with the

investment community and the media.





WASHINGTON, DC: Grassroots.com has tapped Kyle McSlarrow as its VP of

political and governmental affairs. McSlarrow most recently served as

national chairman for the presidential campaign of former VP Dan

Quayle.





SILVER SPRING, MD: USLaw.com, a just-launched legal help Web site for

small business owners and consumers, has named Douglas Kotlove director

of PR. Kotlove comes to the company from Burson-Marsteller’s DC office.
