NEW YORK: EverAd, a company which describes its mission as

’expanding the marketing power of digital media,’ has embarked upon a

search for a PR agency or agencies. The company will likely spend

between dollars 25,000 to dollars 35,000 per month on PR.

Director of corporate communications Michael Berkowitz, an Edelman and

Hill & Knowlton veteran who arrived at the company last month from

LA-based VC fund Technology & Internet Capital, said that PR has become

a ’very, very, very high priority’ to the company’s founders. ’They’re

almost unreasonable about it,’ he joked.

Berkowitz said Everad plans to look at the entire gamut of firms, from

boutiques to multinationals, and added that the company is likely to be

a demanding client. ’Whoever comes courting should be thick-skinned,

resilient and sincere about expectation management,’ he said.

Everad had previously worked with Earle Palmer Brown for advertising and

a limited amount of PR. The relationship between the two companies ended

last month.

Berkowitz added that Everad would consider hiring more than one firm,

and that the winning candidate(s) will boast significant experience in

building Web site traffic, a dossier full of top media placements and

extensive contacts within the advertising and direct marketing

communities.

The target of the PR effort will be 15- to 30-year-old Generation X and

Yers.

Everad, founder of the PlayJ music platform, designs and develops

solutions integrating advertising into music, software and other

Internet media.
