EVP Sue Binford is looking to replace director of editorial operations

David Bittler - who recently quit to join rival CNBC - as well as CNN

Headline News publicists Jennifer Rankin (who has joined America Online)

and Ashley Fwadel (who moved to ESPN.com). Fwadel said the departure of

the three people at the same time was nothing more than a

coincidence.

Binford said that CNN is currently ’reconfiguring the (PR) department’

to focus on the upcoming presidential election. ’We always have more PR

staff during an election year,’ she said, declining to reveal how many

PR staffers CNN employs.

At CNBC, Bittler replaced Martine Charles, now VP of communications at

VH-1.
