will unify its communications and human resources functions.
Manager of corporate communications Bo Stroyls will report to Necia
Clark-Mantle, anointed head of the new ’people division’ last month. The
new unit will house all marketing, recruitment, human resources, and
internal/external communications functions.
Stroyls, who previously reported to the company’s head of marketing,
expects to bring additional PR staff on board but isn’t yet sure what
the hiring timetable will be. Including Stroyls, SkyWest boasts 11
people in its marketing department and 10 in human resources. She is the
only person working on PR, and the airline does not employ any outside
SkyWest is the fourth-largest regional air carrier in the country,
operating Delta Connection flights out of Salt Lake City and United
Express flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland,
OR. The airline handles roughly 1,000 flights a day, flying 89
turboprops and 11 jets.
While the airline has been in business since 1972, it decided to create
the people division because ’it combines a lot of areas that naturally
seem to integrate themselves,’ said Stroyls.
