FRANKFURT: Jaguar’s German arm has restructured and enlarged its
communications department, bringing in Paul Schinhofen to lead the
product PR and publicity charge.
Schinhofen joins from Jaguar parent company Ford, where he spent two
years as head of business communications. Before that, he worked in
Porsche’s press department and as a journalist.
Schinhofen will report to local Jaguar PR head Cornelia Kliegl, who
assumed the top PR post earlier this year after four years with the
company. Both will be responsible for communicating a host of changes at
Jaguar, which has expanded its mid-priced offerings and increased its
involvement in Formula 1 Racing.
’We want to be taken more seriously,’ said Kliegl. ’The image of Jaguar
is close to that of Rolls-Royce in the consumer consciousness. If we
want to sell more cars, we will have to communicate this properly.’
