Hitachi promotes senior director to GM of corp comm

BRISBANE, CA: Hitachi America, which manufactures and markets electronics, computer systems and accessories, as well as semiconductors throughout North America, has upped Gerard Corbett from senior director to general manager of corporate communications.

throughout North America, has upped Gerard Corbett from senior director

to general manager of corporate communications.



In the newly created post, Corbett, 50, will oversee all PR, advertising

and online and offline marketing communications. He will also coordinate

employee communication with the company’s Japanese parent, Hitachi

Ltd.



A one-time programmer for NASA, Corbett boasts more than 25 years of IR

and corporate communications experience, including senior positions at

Loral Corp., National Semiconductor and International Harvester. He also

served a stint at Creamer Dickson Basford.
