hiring its first global PR agency of record.
The company sent out an RFP last month to 10 multinationals, including
Fleishman-Hillard, Edelman, Golin/Harris, Cohn & Wolfe,
Burson-Marsteller, Hill & Knowlton and GCI, and will likely make its
selection by the end of August.
The successful candidate will be charged with a wide range of tasks -
from corporate branding to online services - and oversee the handful of
specialist firms with which SFX works. Generating awareness is also a
pivotal part of the company’s plans. ’We’re not where we want to be
yet,’ said newly appointed VP of PR Howard Schacter, who is directing
SFX will continue to retain Dan Klores Associates for what Schacter
calls ’senior consultation.’ Schacter is also eager to build SFX’s
corporate PR department and is actively soliciting resumes.
