FORT LEE, NJ: CNBC has hired former Amazon.com senior PR manager

Paul Capelli as VP of public relations.

Capelli will serve as CNBC’s chief spokesperson and oversee all

communications for the cable network and CNBC.com. This includes PR,

media relations, employee communications, talent engagements, industry

and community affairs and charitable giving. He succeeds Dave Anderson,

who left the network for a job in the Midwest earlier this year.

Capelli departed Amazon in early April after about 15 months as

second-in-command to PR director Bill Currie. He said a desire to return

to the East Coast prompted the decision, although several former Amazon

colleagues have bailed out since then as well.

’CNBC is a great brand and now the online leader in business news,’ said

Capelli.
