BOSTON: Mirror Image Internet has selected Greenough Communications
Group over a host of suitors, reportedly including Brodeur, to serve as
its lead PR agency. Annual budget for the program, which will focus on
media and analyst relations, is approximately $500,000.
NEW YORK: Digital business consultancy Quidnunc has named Joel Goren,
54, as chief marketing officer. Goren joins the company from Interbrand,
an Omnicom-owned branding consultancy, where he was MD of the firm’s NY
office and directed brand-enhancement programs for Microsoft and
Allstate. In his new job, Goren will be responsible for the company’s
international marketing initiatives.
NEW YORK: Ad agency FCB Worldwide has hired Stuart Ross to establish and
implement a PR practice. Ross, who joins as SVP/director of public
relations, formerly worked in PR for Kroll Associates and PepsiCo.
NEW YORK: Sonnenblick-Goldman Company, a Manhattan-based real estate
investment banking firm, has hired Jeannette Boccini as director of
corporate communications. Boccini, previously a VP at The Krantz Group,
will oversee PR activities in the firm’s seven global offices.
SANTA MONICA, CA: Business.com, an online business directory and search
engine, has named Chris Hylen SVP of marketing, strategy and business
development - a position that includes oversight of PR. He was most
recently chief marketing officer at Stamps.com.
AUSTIN: Ketchum has opened a five-person Austin office, which will be
led by Jose Villasenor. The firm opened its doors in the city to better
serve existing Austin clients Enfinet Media Corp. and Murphree Venture
Partners, and has since picked up Legerity.
SAN FRANCISCO: Hill & Knowlton has hired Esther Watkins Gulli as an MD
in its San Francisco outpost and Richard Halberg as an MD in its
Sacramento office. Gulli was formerly director of strategic planning for
the US Department of the Treasury, while Halberg was communications and
marketing director for Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network.
NEW YORK: Architectural Digest has tapped James Humphrey as senior
manager of media relations. He was previously manager of corporate
communications at Times-Mirror Magazines.
