Boston: Who says that so-called ’virtual agencies’ can’t compete

with the big boys? Just months after its spring launch, Getpress.com has

scored two major client wins: VC firms Granite Ventures and Axxon

Capital.

Granite, a Hambrecht & Quist spin-off formerly known as H&Q Venture

Associates, hired Getpress to assist with its renaming and rebranding

campaign. The company currently manages more than dollars 465 million in

assets and counts DigitalThink and Vignette among its portfolio

companies. Axxon Capital, based in Boston, invests primarily in women-

and minority-owned businesses.

According to Granite Ventures associate Kate Geldens, the decision to go

with Getpress was based on merit and recommendations rather than the

firm’s unusual billing model.

’We had met with two or three other PR firms, but Getpress was by far

the most creative and professional,’ she explained.

Getpress offers a host of individually priced PR services that a client

can request 24 hours a day by filling out a questionnaire on the

Web.

Unless otherwise specified, follow-up calls and tracking are left up to

the client.
