ATLANTA: The William Mills Agency (WMA) has established a hi-tech practice and tapped SVP Jason Williams to lead it. Williams, who joined WMA last year as a VP, has worked in PR for a decade, previously serving as a VP in Edelman’s global technology practice and at Hill & Knowlton and Cohn & Wolfe. Among the clients for whom he has worked are Apple Computers, BellSouth and Hewlett-Packard.

BEDMINSTER, NJ: Verizon Wireless has lured Jeffrey Nelson away from the

Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association to serve as executive

director, corporate communications. A former press secretary for

congressmen Ron Wyden and Lloyd Doggett, Nelson will report to VP of

communications Jim Gerace.





CHICAGO: Edelman has transferred 14-year agency vet Robert Kornecki from

Chicago to Atlanta, where he will serve as president of the firm’s

Southern Region. In that role, he will lead the Atlanta outpost as GM

and oversee offices in Miami, Dallas, Austin and Houston. Kornecki was

most recently president of Edelman’s Central Region.





NEW YORK: Time Warner has named Eileen Naughton to the newly created

post of VP of IR. After completion of the Time Warner/AOL merger,

Naughton will report to AOL VP of IR Richard Hanlon, who will become SVP

of IR for the merged company.





BAYSIDE, NY: The Tourette Syndrome Association has hired Tom Moloney to

fill the new position of coordinator, PR and communications.





IRVINE, CA: California Software has handed Carl Thompson & Associates

its dollars 100,000 IR account.





DANVILLE, CA: Trainer Public Relations, a ’virtual agency’ specializing

in PR for Silicon Valley start-ups, has picked up more than dollars 1

million in new business since mid-June. New clients include WhereNet,

NetPost and 3ware.





BOSTON: Medialink has opened an office in Boston, the company’s 10th in

the US. Elana Bodner will serve as GM of the new outpost.





BALTIMORE: Imre & Associates has hired Keira Shein as account

supervisor, a post in which she will oversee the firm’s hi-tech

division. Shein was formerly director of PR for MDAnywhere.com.





BOSTON: Greenough Communications Group has added four new hi-tech

clients worth an estimated dollars 1.2 million in revenue:

MutualFunds.com, SmartLeaf, Angara and KeeBoo.





NEW YORK: PRWeek is proud to announce the addition of Stephanie Gaskell

as deputy news editor. Gaskell joins the magazine from the AP, where she

worked as an International Desk editor in NY and as a reporter in Miami

and Brussels.
