NEW YORK: WeServeHomes.com, a one-stop shop on the Web for home

services, has selected The Rosenberg Group over a handful of larger

agencies for its local and national PR account.

The Rosenberg Group, a small generalist shop started in May by

Burson-Marsteller veteran George Rosenberg, was among six finalists

asked to pitch to the company, according to Larry Plawsky of

WeServeHomes.com.

Plawsky said he finally settled on The Rosenberg Group because he gets

to work directly with the firm’s principal, George Rosenberg, a 30-year

industry veteran. Before starting his own agency, Rosenberg worked with

Burson, Cohn & Wolfe and KCSA Worldwide.

Although Plawsky declined to name the other five finalists, he said they

were the ’best of the big, blue-chip firms.’

Based in suburban Chicago, WeServeHomes.com is backed by ServiceMaster,

a Fortune 500 outsourcing company, and by Kleiner Perkins Caulfield &

Byers, a venture capital firm that has funded Amazon.com, America

Online, iVillage.com and MarthaStewart.com.

The company is currently conducting a nationwide search for a director

of PR. The successful candidate will have a minimum of six years of

agency or corporate experience, along with strong media-relations

skills.
