Cohn & Wolfe beat competition from 15 agencies, including Edelman and Fleishman-Hillard, which received RFPs.

The mission for WPP-owned Cohn & Wolfe is to help SFX Entertainment bring newly acquired firms into the fold. Recent purchases include the sports agency FAME, run by Michael Jordan's agent David Falk.

Howard Schacter, VP of PR at SFX Entertainment said: 'Cohn & Wolfe offered strategic insight into our unique challenges. We have companies that are locally driven and entrepreneurial, which are suddenly part of a corporate company. How do you mix the spirit while realizing the vision?'

Schacter said the annual account was under dollars 1 million. SFX Entertainment, the largest live entertainment company in the world, continues to work with a roster of agencies. Winuk Communications in New York and Elmore PR in Houston provide support for the SFX Music Group along with Rogers & Cowan, also in New York. Barlow-Hartman works with the theatrical division and touring Broadway productions, while Dan Klores & Associates provides corporate PR in New York.

SFX Entertainment is a spin-off of SFX Broadcasting and owns or runs over 100 venues. The company also provides sports marketing, talent representation and management. It was acquired by Clear Channel Communications for dollars 3 billion this year.
