Reebok's selection of Fleishman ends its year-long, project-based relationship with Ruder Finn, which assisted the company on its human rights initiatives, and with Sally Fisher PR, which teamed up with Ruder Finn on the classic fitness account.

Ruder Finn and Arnold Communications were among the first-round finalists in the agency review. 'There wasn't anything about Ruder Finn that I didn't like, but there was a lot about Fleishman I liked,' said Denise Kaigler, senior director of global PR and corporate communications at Reebok.

'They were one of the few agencies with offices in our key markets in Europe. And Fleishman shared a lot of the passion we have for sports and fitness.'

Fleishman's team, which will be led by SVP and partner Eric Blinderman in New York, will handle publicity for Reebok's product launches, sponsored athletes, ad and marketing initiatives, corporate affairs and human rights programs.

The agency's Sydney office has already provided Reebok with media counseling at the Olympic Games.
