Back in the DC headquarters, three senior-level executives have also joined the firm.

Erin Donovan, former founder and president of her own environmental issues agency, signed on as a senior VP. Donovan is a former environmental issues manager for DuPont. David Egner, a former Associated Press reporter who most recently headed the office of public affairs for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and former ABC News producer Sheila Hershow both boarded as VPs.

The agency has also set up an affiliate relationship with London-based crisis management shop Luther Pendragon, giving Nichols' clients European coverage.
