MARINA DEL REY, CA: Healthcare specialist PR agency Fischer & Partners has landed three new medical device accounts totaling annual billings of dollars 1 million.

The campaign for all three accounts will entail branding, positioning, corporate identity and media relations.

The agency will target the trade and business press for Santa Barbara-based Computer Motion, a medical robotic company developing a voice-controlled computer arm that will assist in surgical procedures.

Media relations also will be the focus for Tempe, AZ-based Instrumentation Metrics, which is developing a non-invasive glucose monitoring device, and San Francisco-based PrecisionMatters, a start-up selling medical device components online.

The agency launched PrecisionMatters at an equipment manufacturer trade show in Boston last week.

A Fischer exec, whose campaign for client Aspect Medical Systems came under recent scrutiny in The Wall Street Journal for reportedly misleading practices, said the agency didn't intend to target the consumer press for the new accounts. 'The message track will have no consumer application.

The companies are far down on the food chain from consumers,' said Aimee Corso, Fischer SVP and group director.
