Fenton signs two PR heavy-hitters

WASHINGTON,DC: Fenton Communications has signed up two top-tier PR practitioners to add to its heavy-hitting payroll. The firm already sports the highest ranking African-American professional in PR in president Maggie Williams.

WASHINGTON,DC: Fenton Communications has signed up two top-tier PR practitioners to add to its heavy-hitting payroll. The firm already sports the highest ranking African-American professional in PR in president Maggie Williams.

Dana Vickers Shelley becomes an SVP with Fenton. She was lured to the shop from Edelman and before that was a key PR aide working on international business missions led by the late Secretary of Commerce, Ron Brown. She also had been director of public affairs at the US Travel and Tourism Administration. Shelley once directed public affairs at Black Enterprise magazine.

Another new hire is Helen Szablya, who also becomes an SVP. Szablya had been the external affairs officer for the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund at the US Treasury.
