BEIJING: Edelman has launched Chinaprnews.com, a new Web site that will provide information on PR developments in China as well as news, case studies and PR tips.

The site is designed to be a resource for Chinese PR professionals, said Martin C. Pearce, Edelman director of global communications and brand management.

Edelman has been operating in China for 15 years and now has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Guangzhou.

Edelman, with 1999 Asian income of dollars 10.4 million, ranks fifth among PR firms in PRWeek's Asian agency rankings (PRWeek, September 25) trailing Ogilvy, Burson-Marsteller, Shandwick and Hill & Knowlton.

China's entry into the World Trade Organization has stimulated PR growth there recently as more companies try to raise their profile in the country.

'Our company has long committed itself to furthering the development of public relations in China,' said Richard Edelman, president/CEO.
