CORTE MADERA, CA: Hi-tech shop Switzer Communications has appointed industry veteran Joshua Weinberg to VP, group director. The new post is part of a grander scheme to expand the executive team and the agency overall.
Jonathan Poretz, the agency's VP, director of accounts, said: 'It all fits into Switzer's growth plan. Although we've had no major client wins recently, we are looking to expand strategically in upcoming years.'
It appears the expansion has already begun. According to PRWeek's 2000 Agency Rankings, Switzer pulled in dollars 1.77 million in PR fee income last year, up 76% from the previous year.
Weinberg will provide strategic counsel for a handful of accounts and will report directly to Poretz. Other specifics of his post remain uncertain.
Weinberg comes to Switzer with more than a decade of hi-tech PR experience.
Most recently, he led the PR team at Zatso, a San Francisco-based company that sells customized newscasts on the Web.
