NEW YORK: Howard Rubenstein has been named chairman of the judges for the PRWeek Awards 2001.
Rubenstein will preside over the judging of an estimated 2,000 entries in 34 categories, chairing a panel of nearly 100 judges from PR, media, business schools, marketing, branding, advertising, management consultancies, and other backgrounds.
Rubenstein, 68, is one of the best-known figures in the public relations industry. A lawyer by training, he has been an enthusiastic champion for PR for more than 45 years.
Best known for his high-profile and celebrity/showbiz clients, including the New York Yankees and Rupert Murdoch (see above), his New York shop also boasts a host of financial/investor relations, healthcare, real estate, and hi-tech accounts.
The shortlist will be published in January. The winners will be announced at the black- tie awards ceremony, to be held at Pier 60 in New York on February 15. For tickets to the dinner, please contact awards@prweek.com.
