Only the two largest agencies in the Cleveland market have done IR work in the past while others pursued PR work, but Howard Landau, president of Wyse Landau, said his clients are increasingly asking for IR assistance.

'We just didn't have the contact in New York to do IR,' Landau said. 'It's not been an area we've had expertise in.'

Landau's firm saw its PR fees rise 15% in 2000 to about dollars 1.2 million.

WSIR is a two-and-a-half-year-old firm. Wyse Landau is a partner agency of Wyse Advertising, also based in Cleveland.
