PN had competed against BSMG for the account. The two agencies were chosen for the final round from an original group of four.

Neither Pfizer nor PN would comment on the scale or details of the account, except to confirm that the appointment was on a global basis.

Laura Schoen, BSMG's president of global healthcare said, 'It was a very fair process and we're disappointed, but we have a very good relationship with Pfizer. We have worked on other Pfizer products in past, and hope to work more in future.'

PN has been involved in numerous consumer-oriented healthcare campaigns for such products as Smith Kline Beecham's Nicorette and NicoDerm, which helps smokers quit; Pfizer's Aricept, which treats Alzheimer's disease, and Roche's Xenical, for obesity.
