STAMFORD, CT: After more than six years at Danone Waters of North America, the company that owns Evian, Dannon, Aqua and Volvic water brands, corporate communications director Michael Neuwirth has decided not to move with the company as it relocates its US headquarters from Stamford, CT, to Pasadena, CA.

Julie Thomas-Lowe will be promoted to corporate communications director, the same title she held at McKesson Water Products Company, which was acquired by Danone last year.

Thomas-Lowe will report to Conrad Smits, vice president of marketing.

Neuwirth, who elected not to move with the company for personal reasons, said he is looking forward to new challenges within the tri-state area.

'I'll be doing some freelance PR and exploring opportunities with PR agencies as well as corporate communications positions,' said Neuwirth.

Danone is the global leader in the bottled water market. It also holds a 9% market share in the worldwide cookie market and a 15.1% share of the worldwide fresh dairy product market.

With the exception of Dannon yogurt and the Lea & Perrins brand, the company is known primarily throughout the US for its water brands.
