NEW YORK: Former Primedia corporate communications chief David Adler has launched a new Web site that focuses on the comings and goings of the New York event industry.

Backed by Milestone Venture Partners, Insignia ESG, former Primedia chairman and CEO William Reilly and private investor Matthew Bronfman, Adler launched BiZBash.com last month.

The Web site carries news and a resource directory for corporate planners.

Users can see which PR people have planned events and what vendors they have used. It also gives advice about how to plan press conferences, fashion shows and sporting events.

Adler is both CEO and editorial director of the site. He says he decided to set it up after failing to find adequate Web resources for his own event-planning needs at Primedia. 'I would do events such as the New York magazine anniversary party and there were no real resources, other than calling friends.' he said.

BiZBash.com estimates that more than 100,000 events are held in New York City alone each year.

There are already 8,000 subscribers to BiZbash.com's e-mail list and 50 registered vendors. The company plans to roll out the service to other cities and will debut a Los Angeles newsletter in the next few weeks. It currently is looking for PR executives to describe their worst events.
