WASHINGTON: Victoria 'Torie' Clarke was appointed by President Bush
last week to serve as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the
Department of Defense, as predicted by PRWeek (March 12). Clarke will
remain with Hill & Knowlton as GM of its DC office during the Senate
confirmation process. Formerly the assistant US trade representative for
public affairs, Clarke also served as former president Bush's
spokesperson during his 1992 re-election campaign.
