INTERNATIONAL NEWS: International appointments to assist Edelman inbid for greater expansion

NEW YORK: Edelman's financial division has made international

appointments for three new positions, one in Hong Kong and two in

London.

The appointments are a bid to continue the growth that caused revenues

to double from dollars 6.5 million in 1999 to dollars 13 million today.

Michael Geczi, currently an EVP at the firm's LA financial

communications practice, will move to Hong Kong to serve as president of

financial communications for Edelman Asia-Pacific. He will handle

financial communications in the Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou,

Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney offices.

Geczi will report to Jerry Hendin, president of Edelman

Asia-Pacific.

Before Geczi joined Edelman in 2000, he was president of Gavin Anderson

& Company. He also worked as an editor and reporter for The Wall Street

Journal, and as an editor for Business Week.

In London, Stephen Benzikie has been hired to head the financial

practice and Michael Henman will join as a director. Henman reports to

Benzikie, who in turn will report to Tari Hibbitt, CEO London.

Henman and Benzikie both come from Grandfield Public Relations where

Benzikie was board director for the past three years. Henman was a

founding director at Grandfield.

'These key additions represent important steps in extending the strength

of Edelman's financial brand in Europe, Asia and beyond,' said Hollis

Rafkin-Sax, GM of Edelman financial communications.
