LOS ANGELES: Bragman Nyman Cafarelli (BNC) has picked up a new star
client, but lost a senior partner.
The agency, acquired in January by Weber Shandwick Worldwide (WSW) for
an estimated dollars 10 million, has just snagged Lucy Liu, a star of
Fox's Ally McBeal and the recent chick flick Charlie's Angels.
BNC's personality division, which also represents Liu's Angels co-star,
Cameron Diaz, is headed by Brad Cafarelli. Liu leaves behind talent
Separately, senior vice president Susan DuBow has quit BNC for personal
reasons to move from the West Coast to Florida.
The agency is currently working on Sony PlayStation 2 and has just
helped Sports Illustrated launch its famed swimsuit edition. The firm is
also providing support to Conde Nast magazine Vanity Fair when it throws
its legendary Oscar night party on Sunday.
Commenting on the nascent relationship with WSW, president Michael Nyman
said: 'We've had 10 to 12 meetings and are exploring new ways to work
together.' Nyman would not give details of any joint projects as yet,
but confirmed that the agency is on course to record revenues of dollars
8.5 million for 2000.
