Rogers wins dollars 36m CCFC PR contract

LOS ANGELES: The California Children & Families Commission (CCFC),

an organization funded by proceeds from California's Prop 10

fifty-cent-per-pack cigarette tax that sets out to educate the public

about the hazards of smoking to young children and pregnant women, has

awarded its dollars 36 million public relations contract to incumbent

Rogers & Associates.

The Los Angeles-based PR and public affairs agency defended its position

against Porter Novelli Goddard-Claussen.

The CCFC contract, which spans three years and will include a concerted

effort to reach the state's growing Hispanic and non-white populations,

is widely considered to be one of the largest such programs for a

statewide entity.

While Rogers will act as lead agency, several other subcontractor firms

will share in the windfall, including Imada Wong to handle Asia-Pacific

communications, Bauman/Curry for outreach to the African-American

audience and IE Communications for stakeholder communications.
