Ketchum clinches Hyundai network

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA: Ketchum has triumphed in the contest for

agency-of-record status for Hyundai Motor America, with the assignment

to handle West Coast PR and oversee all national PR issues.



Ketchum becomes the fourth agency in Hyundai's nationwide PR

network.



Total PR spending for those agencies is dollars 1 million annually, said

Chris Hosford, director of communications.



Regional agencies handle PR with local automotive journalists. Ketchum

will do that on the West Coast and coordinate the regions.



Annualized billings for Ketchum next year are likely to be dollars

750,000, Hosford said. While he wouldn't comment on finalists, other

sources said Ketchum beat out BSMG and Stoorza. The review was handled

by Los Angeles-based search firm Jerry Swerling & Associates.
