Polo Ralph Lauren loses fashion PR maven

NEW YORK: The hunt is on for one of the most senior positions in

fashion public relations.

Polo Ralph Lauren is searching to replace Lynn Tesoro, senior vice

president of corporate communications and collections marketing. Tesoro

is assisting the firm with the search for a replacement. She was

mysterious about her future plans, saying only: 'I'm planning on doing

something which will become clearer in the next few weeks.'

Tesoro's former role in-volves overseeing advertising, collections and

brand marketing. She is something of a fashion PR maven, having spent

five years at Polo, six years at Calvin Klein and four years at


Tesoro's colleague, Guillermo Zalamea, senior director of public

relations for the men's collection, is also taking off. He is joining

designer John Varvatos, who currently uses Paul Wilmot Communications

for PR.

Polo Ralph Lauren's PR and marketing arm has recently been working

closely with actress Penelope Cruz who is featured in the firm's latest

ad campaign.
