Mitsubishi picks Stanton over F-H

CYPRESS, CA: Mitsubishi Motors of America is consolidating product

and corporate PR with Fleishman-Hillard, dropping Stanton-Crenshaw.

The US arm of Japan's Mitsubishi hired Stanton-Crenshaw in 1999 for what

was then a dollars 1 million PR account. The agency then set up an

office in Huntington Beach, CA, to service the account, and has now cut

two positions there as a result of the loss.

Fleishman has worked with Mitsubishi before on a project basis. 'We

really value their global ability,' said Gael O'Brien, the company's VP

of corporate communications.
