BSMG beats 15 agencies to handle Xbox's technology provider

CAMPBELL, CA: BSMG World-wide has beaten out 15 national and local

agencies to become the agency of record for NVIDIA, the graphics

processing company which will provide the core technology for Xbox,

Microsoft's new game console set to launch in the US in fall 2001. The

companies have signed a year-long contract.

Derek Perez, director of PR for NVIDIA, said the company had become too

big for its two in-house PR officers to handle alone. Perez said BSMG's

pitch convinced him the agency has contacts in the business and

financial press, a priority for NVIDIA.

'BSMG will help us broaden our scope to reach press we weren't able to

reach before,' said Perez.

Five BMSG staffers will service the account out of the agency's

Portland, San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. West Coast tech

group, BenJamin Group/BSMG World-wide, will lead the account.

Last week, Benjamin Group/BSMG was also appointed by CrossWorlds

Software, a leader in the business integration software space. BSMG

replaced Fitzgerald Communications on the business, as CrossWorlds

wanted to consolidate the PR with the advertising account, held by BSMG

sister agency Bozell Silicon Valley.
