DALLAS: The managing director of Alexander Ogilvy's shuttered
Dallas office has resurfaced at Read-Poland Associates, where he is
founding a new technology practice.
Don Bartholomew's long history in Texas hi-tech PR included opening
Cunningham's Austin office and managing AO's Dallas branch throughout
its two-year existence.
Read-Poland has worked to revitalize its image and client list since
Burson-Marsteller's former European COO Jeff Hunt became president in
January. Founder Julian Read remains CEO of the firm, which will
celebrate its 50th anniversary next week.
Bartholomew, who joins as SVP, said he was attracted to Read-Poland by
the chance to start a fresh tech practice that extends to Austin and
The firm may consider tying PR measurement to sales, Web site hits or
other non-media performance goals, he said.
'We believe this is a very good time to be broadening our technology
capabilities,' Hunt said in a press release. 'The industry has returned
to a more rational environment where sound business models and solid,
profitable growth will be rewarded. Companies will be built to last, not
just to IPO.'
