Limited Too gets Access to push 'tween' PR

COLUMBUS, OH: Limited Too, a nationwide retailer of clothing for

pre-teen girls, has tapped San Francisco-based Access Communications to

handle a summer mall tour and PR campaign for the chain's back-to-school

line.

Access, best known until now for its work with tech clients, was brought

in to pitch at the recommendation of The Wonder Group, a

Cincinnati-based youth marketing firm. According to Access/New York

managing director Judith Sussman, the agency triumphed over more than a

dozen PR firms vying for the business.

This is the first full-service PR firm for Columbus, OH-based Limited

Too, which was spun off from The Limited chain a few years ago and

focuses on the so-called 'tween' market of girls between 7-14 years of

age.

Sussman cited Access' experience with several long-standing consumer and

youth-oriented clients, such as Toymax, Scholastic and Sega Dreamcast,

as a reason for the win.

'Our charter this year has been not only to grow our technology base,

but also to use the consumer marketing experience of several of our top

executives to expand into new areas,' explained Sussman, whose own

background includes work with companies such as Mattel, Parker Bothers

and Swatch Watches.

Limited Too will be handled by a bi-coastal account team who will

coordinate and publicize a series of summer events at shopping malls

across the US.

'Our goal is to grow this into a yearly promotion,' said Sussman.
