MMG wins dollars 23m health contract

ROCKVILLE, MD: Matthews Media Group (MMG) has won a five-year,

dollars 23 million contract to provide PR support to the National

Cancer Institute (NCI).

MMG has worked with NCI - one of the 25 centers of the National

Institutes of Health - on a project basis in the past.

'NCI has responsibility for people with cancer, survivors of cancer,

family members, healthcare professionals and social workers,' said Molly

Mahoney Matthews, MMG's president and CEO. 'We will work across their

branches to give them whatever communications support they need.'

Among MMG's first tasks for NCI is a branding project to increase

awareness of the institute's full range of projects. 'One thing people

don't really know is that they do an enormous amount of clinical

research,' Matthews said.
