Underserved Ohio city attracts Innis

YOUNGSTOWN, OH: Canton, OH-based Innis Maggiore Group is opening an

office in Youngstown to tap into the underserved market there.

Dan Pecchia will become VP of the new office when it opens June 1.

Pecchia, an owner, had been the firm's VP of PR. Innis is searching for

someone to take over his duties at the Canton office.

Youngstown, with two major hospitals, a variety of manufacturing firms

and several financial institutions, is currently underrepresented in the

PR field, Pecchia said. While there are PR firms in the market, he

added, major local companies 'generally look to Cleveland, Pittsburgh

and New York for high-end PR.'

Innis plans to position itself as a lower-cost alternative to big-city

firms, a strategy it has used successfully in Canton, he added.

The new office will pick up existing Youngstown clients, including

Rainbow Rentals and Cafaro, a real-estate development firm.

While Pecchia would not disclose revenue estimates for the new office,

he said he has rented space large enough for eight people. He has

already hired two people, one to handle PR, the other advertising.

Integrated firm Innis has 29 employees and had capitalized billings of

dollars 13 million last year.
