LAST CALL: CIA man finally gets his day in the sun

In his 25 years handling covert operations for the CIA, Chase

Brandon probably had more than his share of triumphs that he could never

talk about. Today, though, as the CIA's appointed liaison with the film

industry, Brandon can crow about his PR accomplishments. Such as his

tutoring of movie heartthrob Ben Affleck, who is set to play Jack Ryan

in The Sum of All Fears, based on a Tom Clancy novel. Brandon showed

Affleck around the agency and was with him for the Hawaiian opening of

Affleck's current film, Pearl Harbor (see below). Affleck wore a CIA

baseball cap to one press conference and spoke well of the agency.

Brandon beams when he tells the story. It may not be on par with

bringing down the Berlin Wall, but for the now PR-savvy Brandon, it was

still sweet.
