Kolbe finds press secretary at Dittus

WASHINGTON: Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), managing the demands of a

heightened profile as the new chairman of an influential subcommittee,

plucked his first DC-based press secretary from Dittus Communications

last week.

Kolbe appointed Neena Moorjani to the post, which he had maintained at

his Arizona district office until now. His political profile rose

earlier this year when he was appointed chairman of the House

Subcommittee on Foreign Operations, which debates funding for foreign

aid, UN operations and the World Bank.

Moorjani, who spent two years at Dittus as an associate director, cited

Kolbe's role in foreign relations as an incentive for her to go to the

Hill. "He's involved with a lot of trade and immigration issues - plus

he's a very nice guy," she said.

Dittus has tapped Jennifer Daniel, formerly of Golin/Harris, to replace
